Why It Matters
Most people don’t think about their bladder until it’s too late. These facts change that.

Spot the Signs
Blood in your urine — even once — is not normal.
Other signs can include frequent urination or back pain.
Don’t wait. Don’t assume. Get checked.

Bladder Cancer Isn’t Rare
Bladder cancer is the 5th most common cancer in Canada and among the top worldwide.
Still think it’s nothing? Think again.

Early Detection Saves Lives
Caught early, bladder cancer is highly treatable.
But too many people don’t catch it in time.

Break the Silence
Too many are embarrassed to talk about it.
That silence is deadly.
Pee Proud helps you speak up.

Founder’s Story
“I didn’t have symptoms. I had luck. That’s the only reason I’m here.”
A routine CT scan for something else revealed a tiny spot in my bladder — one that turned out to be a highly aggressive cancer. No pain, no warning, no reason to suspect anything was wrong. If we hadn’t found it by accident, I might not be here to tell this story.
As someone who’s spent my life in media and storytelling, I know the power of a message — and the danger of silence. Too many men ignore the signs until it’s too late. Too many women misread them, thinking it’s “just period blood” or a harmless infection. Too many people die simply because no one told them the truth in time.
That’s why I started Pee Proud — to break the silence, smash the stigma, and make sure no one misses the signs that nearly cost me my life. This isn’t a polite conversation. It’s a life-saving one.
If you see blood in your urine, even once, talk to your doctor immediately. Don’t wait. Don’t assume. Don’t let silence kill you.
